“Having Sara for a coach was a great experience for me not only as an athlete but as an adult. Upon arriving into Chicago from my home state of Montana, let’s just say my nerves were going crazy, but there Sara was to pick me up from the airport. She was more than just a coach, she was a mentor and friend. She was dedicated to every individual on the team no matter what skill level. She pushed us to be our best and always took time to go above and beyond what was required. Above anything she was honest, forthcoming, and encouraging.” - Alyssa Hyem, Hyem Insurance Services

“I was always impressed with the work ethic that Sara had each and everyday. She was always a very positive person to both the people she worked with and more important her players.” - Former colleague, University of Northern Iowa

“Sara was my coach at DePaul University. She was an excellent motivator and was always willing to take the extra time to help you improve, whether it meant coming to practice early or staying late, or even coming in on her days off. She put the team and the girls first and her pride showed through in our accomplishments. She knew the game very well and her coaching style was more of a teacher and mentor than a dictator. She was always staying on the cutting edge of new techniques, but never underestimated the value of fundamentals. She focused equally on the mental aspect as she did the physical. Her goal was to make us complete players and given the success of the program, she clearly reached her goal.” – Kate Otto, Senior Compliance Specialist, Allergan

“I have worked with Sara on both a personal and professional level. Sara exhibits qualities that exemplify her abilities as a leader and mentor to both peers and students. She is devoted, well organized and has a positive attitude no matter what the situation. I highly recommend Sara and know she will give you her best always” - Marianne Dolack, Certified Comprehensive Coach, BearingPoint Coaching/Life-Caddie

“Sara was my softball coach my freshman year at DePaul University. Her work ethic and coaching style was to bring a positive attitude and motivational spirit to the team. She helped me develop and fine tune my ability to be a switch hitter as well as grow as player and individual. Every day I came to practice or a game, I was thankful to have Sara as a coach and teammate.” - Laura Visin, Community Relations, Chicago Rush Arena Football

“Sara brings five major components to the table that all pre-college student athletes can find extremely useful: First of all, she knows how to hit, and knows how to teach softball players how to hit at the maximum capacity. Everywhere she has played or coached, the hitting level has always gone up remarkably. Second, she has a comprehensive knowledge of the drills needed for a softball player to discipline themselves to become the best overall player that they can be, no matter what the position. Third, due to her coaching experience, she knows what coaches are looking for in players, both generally and specifically; the coaches are her peers, and she talks with them often. One coach might like already-disciplined athletes; another may have a specific need for a catcher. And Sara knows what their needs are,. Fourth, Sara has the unique experience of working in several different university environments, from large public schools to large and small private schools, and she has helped athletes adapt to the new surroundings, and also helped them find a more suitable place if things just didn’t work out. Sara can help a pre-college student athlete find the find fit for them in terms of athletic level, academic level, and the more intangible social environs (eg size and distance from home). And last but definitely not least, MONEY! Sara knows how the recruiting “game” is played, and what can be requested, and how to analyze specific recruitment offers from schools, so an athlete and her family don’t feel bamboozled, or even just possibly lead on incorrectly by a smooth-talking coaching staff. It’s the same reasoning as having a lawyer read over a contract for you: to have experienced eyes on your side evaluate the offer before signing on the dotted line. I have known Sara for a quarter century. I have seen her in action as both a coach and player, and she has excelled in both admirably. She has impeccable integrity and a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer. I recommend Sara in this area without hesitation and without qualification.” - Edward Imbus, Credentialing Specialist at US Coast Guard
