Forza Institute

“What are you really good at doing?”

“What sets you apart from the thousands of other softball players in the country?”

“What do you have to offer college coaches in addition to your atheltic skill?”

Power Line Consulting is pleased to present Dr. Angela Robles (Bessolo) to you, who through experience as a college athlete, coach, and educator can help you answer these questions.

After growing up in southern California where she was mentored by some of the best youth coaches in the business (Gary Haning and Ernie Parker), Angela attended the University of Notre Dame.   As a pitcher for the Irish, Angela was a member one of the most successful batteries in program history.  Her coaches were again some of the best in the game: Hall of Famer Liz Miller and current Head Coach of the Irish Deanna Gumpf.

While pursuing her Masters degree, Angela explored coaching at the nationally competitive Long Beach State. Since earning her doctorate degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University, she founded her business Forza Institute.

Through Forza, Angela has brought “strengths training” to NCAA Division I and ASA teams.  She has recently trained: University of Arizona, University of Washington, University of Notre Dame, Harvard University, San Diego State University, Central Michigan University, San Francisco State University, and Marty Tyson’s Corona Angels.  She has also had the opportunity to work with elite players including: Michele Smith (Olympian), Leah O’Brien-Amico (Olympian), and Stacey Nuveman (Olympian).

We are excited to bend Angela’s experience and information to suit Power Line Recruiting.  Work with Angela will help you discover your innate talents.  By using the Gallup Cifton StrengthsFinder Inventory, and conducting one-on-one consulting sessions, Power Line believes she will help you achieve your maximum potential as a student-athelte and collegiate recruit.

If you are interested in discovering your strengths and using them to “Reach the Next Level,” this training is designed for you!  Angela’s intitial meeting consists of a half-hour “getting to know the process” session, a one-and-one half hour StrengthsFinder testing and breakdown discussion, and two half-hour discussions on how this information applies to your recruiting process.

“Travel Ball Teams put as much time, energy, and focus into their recruiting efforts as many college coaches.  They watch young kids come up through the ranks, identify the talent they would like to pursue, and go to great lengths to demonstrate that their team is the right fit for the athlete they are “recruiting”.  I think the Strengths Program is simply one more defining factor in finding the right fit for everyone.  I believe that the mental side of the game should be taught at a young age and treated as just another “fundamental skill” necessary to play the game at the highest level.  To maximize the mental game, personalities and how those personalities come together to create the most effective environment for a team becomes paramount to success.  The Strengths Program is simply one more step that can be taken to address every factor necessary for team and individual success.  It can also be yet another source of information that a recruit might present to college coaches to help them with their evaluation process.”
